Well, aren't you cute? [Roderich + Berwald]

Berwald gave a small shrug, " Didn' 'ave 'nythin' better t' do a' th' time," He paused for a while, adjusting the pants and flicking a few strands of his short fringe down, over his forehead, " An' th' money's quite nice," At the corner of his eye, he sees the designer smile proudly at his work. Comfortable to wear? "Mm. Yeh," He replies. As for adjustments; Berwald takes another look at the pants in the mirror. Hm. Perhaps. He takes another moment to think. No. He was already getting a different concept for the pants, he doubted that the man would like tearing the design apart all over again, "A lil' bit 'f a clean up should do," He answers finally.

He couldn't help himself as he turned his head towards the other half-finished articles around the room. The designer was really working his ass off wasn't he?

Roderich gave Berwald a look of surprise. He thought modeling seemed like an odd choice of career, even if one did not know what to do. Berwald certainly had the manly look, but Roderich thought the profession to be a scary choice. He never fully understood how anyone could become a model and then stick with it.

“Huh...” replied the Austrian after a moments pause, “Yeah, the money must be an awfully good incentive.” He sat quietly, gazing at the clothes, judging how much more would have to be done and how long it would take. He sighed, and requested that the model give him the jacket.

“Sorry to keep you here so long,” yawned the Austrian while waiting for him to change.

"Not plannin' t' do this f'rever," He starts when he sees the look on the other's face, "Next 5 , 6 years. Got plans. Money I get fr'm doin' this can 'elp m' with 'em, " He spotted the man's gesture, and quickly slipped the jacket off, " Nn. I's allrigh'," He replies handing the jacket to the designer, " Ye should prob'ly get some sleep," The man looked sleep deprived ( Or in need of a whole canister of good coffee ). Berwald briefly glanced at the watch at his wrist. It was still the middle of the day. Did he have lunch yet? No not yet.

" Need anythin' else?" He asks.

Roderich gratefully accepted the jacket, instantly starting work on it. He was far too eager to be finished with this project. Maybe he could then take a week off. Deadlines be damned, he needed a week to rejuvenate. The mere thought of relaxation made him grin.

“What do you plan on doing?” murmured the Austrian distractedly. He ignored the comment about getting some sleep. He did not want to admit to a model that he was overworked. It seemed rude to fuss about his exhaustion to a model who spent their days being pushed around by designers, makeup artists, and insane photographers.

“Eager to get out of here?” chuckled the Austrian. “You can go get something to eat if you want.”

Well. He didn't exactly want to leave, because he has no reason to leave. Until he know that his job here was done. Apparently not quite. THe designer has started working on the jacket. He's probably still needed. Berwald finds the stool he has sat on, pulled it only slightly towards the other, and seats himself, " Not tha' 'ungry yet," He answers. He was hungry, yes, but only to a point where he feels like he needs a snack not a meal. He turns his head around, looking for something to do. The silence was becoming a little bit awkward. He was used to prolonged silence, but this was a bit different. Maybe because one was busy working while he himself was siting there, fiddling idly with the denim on his jeans.

He looks around, " Can go get ye a cup'a coffee," He offers, standing up.

Roderich glanced at Berwald as he sat near him, but made no other acknowledgment of his presence. He was far too dedicated to his work to pay too much attention to anything else. Even his exhaustion could be ignored in favor of work. He finished hemming the bottom of the jacket, and then looked up at the now standing model.

“That would be lovely,” replied the Austrian gratefully. He smiled at the model, but paused in amusement, looking him over. “You will probably want to change before you leave the room though. Without the jacket, that shirt will not work when out and about.”

Berwald nods his head slightly, finds his discarded shirt and starts to undresses himself off the clothes the designer had asked him to wear. After pulling his own clothes back on, he strode out of the room an turned left to the next end of the hall. He doubted the man would like the canned coffee, so he tapped on the button for the elevator and when it arrived, got in and went downstairs. Good. He jogs through the photoshoot, well what was left of it which was a few assistants cleaning the make up and the dress rooms. He finds one assistant and taps her shoulder with a finger. SHe turns around and jumps slightly, as usual. Berwald gives a mental sigh at this. He forces a small smile, his photo smile, " Can i get a cup 'f coffee?"

She frowns slightly and gives a weary shake of her head, before walking off towards the coffee maker. Berwald looks around him as he waited. Strange how clean and not cluttered this place can be without the models and makeup artists running around. The assistant returns and hands him the coffee. Hot. He switches the cup to his other hand and turns his head to smile at the woman. He mumbles a thanks and carefully makes his way back to the elevator.

A minute later, he knocks his knuckles softly against the door of the designing room

It only took a few minutes of work after Berwald left to finishing hemming everything on the jacket. Upon finishing, Roderich stood and stretched. He gathered up the clothes and set them beside the sewing machine. He tided for a few moments longer, making more space for him to work. He nearly sat down to start work upon the pants but quickly cast that thought away with a yawn. The designer instead lazily flopped back in his chair to doze.

It seemed all too soon when the sound of knuckled rapped against the door again. He jolted up, quickly and sloppily trying to stick the pants in the sewing machine to look like he was doing work.

“Uh...Yes, come in!” called the designer quickly.

Berwald raised his eyebrows slightly when he sees the designer jumping from leaning back against his chair to slouching over his work.What use is it to pretend working infront of a model? THe man was tired, he should've taken a break. He nodded his head once and walked across the room, carefully setting the cup down on the table, a safe distance from the sewing machine. Will never know when a wandering elbow will tip the hot coffee all over the pants, " Ye should take a break b'fore working on tha'," Berwald starts as he turns his back and seats himself on the chair, " Migh' star' t' doze off an' sew th' pants wrong," And he will have to go through the agonising risk of either correcting the stitches or painfully redoing the whole thing over again.

Roderich let out an unrestrained, sleepy groan in response to being caught in the act of pretending to work. Without bothering to put up much of a facade, the Austrian lazily moved to retrieve the coffee. He politely thanked Berwald before deciding to sit on the table. At first, the Austrian remained in a comfortable silence, merely focusing on his coffee with sleepy interest. However, as time passed, the beverage lost his interest. He started to fidget at the silence in the room.

“Ah...Any grand plans for the rest of the day?” tried the man, awkwardness evident. Idle chit chat was not his strong suit.

Plans? Well. " Mm. No' really. Jus' a date later tonight," Hm. About that. He looks at his watch. 5 hours to burn before he needs to get back home to get ready. He lifts his gaze and a corner of his lips curls upwards for a moment. He looks at the designer. Looks like had only taken a sip from that cup. Perhaps the coffee wasn't of his taste? Well, if it isn't he should say so. Berwald straightens and stands up walking to the table the man was working at, " Can take over 'f ye want,"

“That is not a 'not really'. That is a plan and a nice one. I hope you have a nice, relaxing evening,” replied Roderich in a lazy tone. He waited a few moments, seeming to be distracted and delighted by the way the coffee's steam would twist and flow like a gossamer fabric in reaction to his sleepy breaths. Finally, the Austrian took a long gulp of coffee before letting the cup once again sit idly in his hands.

The designer's gaze was torn from the cup to stare upwards at the now standing, and much taller, model. He was surprised by this man's helpful nature. Of course, Roderich was not moving very quickly today. The model could probably have been out of the room an hour ago if the sizing and style issues of the clothes had not occurred. It made sense to help the slow process along.

“Are you sure? You know what you are doing? You do not have to,” protested the man halfheartedly.

Berwald nods and takes the seat behind the machine, " Wha' d'ye want m' t' do?" He asked, adjusting the machine and the fabric slightly. Then he reminds himself of the designer's comment on his plans for tonight. His lips curls at this and he bends his head down, pretending to fiddle with the machine, " Prob'ly will. He's a natr'lly calm person," His work on the pants seems simple enough, since most of the design was already sown in and done, he'll just need to finish and tidy the last several seams. But he doesn't start the machine. Not yet. He looks up and waits for the man infront of him to give him any sign of other instructions.

Seeing as his concerns were being shoved to the side and ignored, Roderich kept his gaze carefully trained on the model as he sat in front of the unfinished pants. It was a calculating look that would accept no mistakes from the man fiddling uselessly with the sewing machine. Eventually seeming satisfied, Roderich placed his coffee down beside him and sprawled across the table. An unfortunate pile of scrap fabric had the honor of acting as his pillow.

“Okay. The already finished seams need reinforcing. The top of the pants needs to be finished and the zipper put in. The bottoms need to be hemmed,” he paused, satisfaction only lasting for a few moments as he gazed at the ceiling. “I will finish whatever you do not feel like doing.”

(( It's okay. I couldn't reply anyways. Severe sinus infection has been making it hard to concentrate. ;A; ))

Berwald gives a short nod and sets to work, carefully keeping the man's orders in mind. After a minute, he realises that he was a bit too tense, and forced himself to relax. He didn't want his body to ache more than it should, afterall, he had another photoshoot in the morning. The good news is that the shoot is in the city, not some 5 hour plane ride away. He looks up at the designer, remembering that they haven't introduced themselves. The man probably won't make the first move. Should he? They've been in here for a few hours now, it only seems appropriate, " Name's Berwald," He says turning his head back to the work at hand. He was already done with the top of the pants, and he has already hemmed the bottoms. Next was the zipper.

Roderich relaxed to the sound of the sewing machine's mechanical whirring, his mind idly wandering to thoughts of old machinery. He would have continued to doze off to thoughts of Victorians and Industrial Revolutions if Berwald had not spoken up and offered his name. A few lethargic moments were spent baffling over what the model was talking about before it finally clicked in his distracted mind.

“Well then Berwald, it is a pleasure. I am Roderich Edelstein,” politely replied the Austrian, his voice picking up more of an accent as he was jolted from his dozing. There was a pause filled with a yawn, and then he spoke again in a tone that made it unclear about whether or not he was serious or sarcastic. “Obviously your new favourite designer.”

Berwald curls a corner of his lips, at the statement but stays silent on the subject. Actually, he feels that it was best for him to stay quiet from now on. Roderich would've been sleeping now if he hadn't said anything. He wondered if the man had taken the time to sleep last night. By the looks of it he hadn't, but if he did, it was probably for a few hours and no more. BUt something in him admires the man for his dedication, but perhaps it was just a very close deadline. The machine stops and Berwlad looks up, " Should go an' sleep. Will finish up 'ere," He says with a soft voice.

Roderich chuckled bitterly at the suggestion. “I appreciate the concern, but it will only make it more painful when I have to wake up and drag myself home. It is just a little bit longer,” he argued lazily. He fell into a long silence once again, this time keeping his eyes trained on the sewing machine as the fabric was pushed carefully through. For a few moments, all seemed perfectly right, but after a moment it occurred to the Austrian to be suitably surprised. Most models were completely unhelpful for a specific reason.

“Where did you learn to sew?”

"mm," Berwald hummed as the man decided on staying until the work was done. There was a long silence after and he notices, at one point, that Roderich was watching him. He doesn't say anything on it, of course. The man probably wanted to make sure he did nothing wrong as well as to keep his attention on something so that he wouldn't nod off. Right, that should be it. Berwald carefully tidies his work and removes it from the machine, briefly inspecting his work and checking if he had missed anything. Nothing so far. He looks up when Roderich speaks, asking him where he had learnt to sew, " Mom showed m' how t' d' it once. 'fter tha', i' was trial an' error," He replies simply as he folds the pants in half, stands and walks over to the designer, " If there's anthin' t' fix," He mumbles, handing the designer his work.

“You enjoyed...enjoy sewing then? What sort of things do you make?,” inquired the Austrian, starting to become vaguely interested. He smiled appreciatively as Berwald handed him the finished pants. He held them up, carefully examining the workmanship of the clothes. After a few minutes of examining and tugging at the seams of the pants, he handed them back to the Swedish model. He sat back up then, sipping his cooling coffee.

“Mm, put the entire outfit on once more. Walk in it, tell me if it all feels alright and then we can arrange for a photo shoot, but on a better day. One without an exhausted designer. I'll try to get the least crazy of photographers too.” He stretched out, looking exhausted.

What did he make? Well, lots of stuff, actually. From knitted scarves and sown dresses to small dolls his sister had pestered him for, but Berwald didn't want to give a long answer, he never likes giving elaborated answers, " Things fer m' sister, mos'ly," He replies as he watches the designer inspect the seams on the pants. When the man hands them back to him again, a small part of him thought that he had missed something, or did the seams wrong. But when Roderich simply tells him to try the pants on, he accepts the pants and steps backwards to replace his jeans with the pants.

A photoshoot. Berwald smiles slightly, grateful for the designer for saying that he'll try to get a bearable photographer. He fixes the pants on him, discarding his own jeans, setting them aside on the table. He did as he was asked. Berwald turns his back and walks to the end of the room, turns again and starts to walk towards the designer, stepping forward to the beats in his head.

Roderich raised a brow. It was a rather vague statement, and Roderich had no way of relating. It made him a tad bit sad really. His parents had always disapproved. He never got to make anything for his family, he never got taught by his family. Despite that, Roderich could not help but smile. It was rather sweet, the mental image of a massive manly model hunched over a sewing machine making dresses for a little girl. “How kind of you. What a good elder brother,” he finally said with a hum.

Roderich let out a long and thoughtful hum as he watched the Swedish man walk across the room. Nothing about the outfit was especially glamorous, just casual wear, but he could not help but be proud of his work. While he would never be caught dead in the youthful outfit, he would be pleased if he saw anyone else wearing it around. He was proud of his work, just as he should be. The designer could not resist a grin.

“I do not know how we did it, but that is going to look lovely on you in the photo shoot,” he paused to stifle a yawn, “I will check everything over when I am not sleep-depraved.”

[ AHHHHH I"M SORRY DDD8 BUSY WEEK ]

A good elder brother. Heh. Maybe. He was a little bit too good. His sister was now a bit spoiled. But she was far from the bratish sort. She was the type that will work hard to get whatever she wants, which, is both good and a bad quality to have. Perhaps he should give her a call.

Berwald returned the designer's grin with a small smile. He was glad that he didn't have to do any more work. Then the man yawned for maybe the hundreth time, " Can think 'f tha' some other time," Berwald started as he changed his pants ," Should go home now," After pulling his own jeans on, he folded the pants and set them down near the sewing machine, " Need m' t' drive ye home?"

Roderich stood up and stretched, before stepping over to retrieve his coat. He paused to glance out the window and could not resist a sigh. The blasted sun was far too bright. He was glad for the early finish today though. He did not care if anyone complained. He was going home and any fussing could wait. Deadlines be damned, he was nearly done.

An appreciative smile flitted across Roderich's face at Berwald's offer to give him a drive home. “Yeees, please,” he answered with a lazy drawl. “That is a lovely idea. Thank you very much, Berwald.” He eagerly stepped forward, holding the door open for the both of them.

Berwald nods at the man's reply and turns around, heading for the door that Roderich had kindly kept open. THe man looked like he was going to pass out at any moment. Perhaps it would be a good idea for him to just wrap and arm under the other's shoulder to support him. He was sure Roderich wouldn't think anything more of the gesture. But Berwald found the idea a bit more awkward than it first seemed. He wasn't used to getting physically close to a mere acquaintance, much less if the person was someone he works for, " Where d'ye live?" He asks, before Roderich starts to get too sleepy to be coherent. Well, maybe he's a bit too late for that.

They stand infront of the lift door; Berwald gets to the button first and taps on the 'down' symbol. The doors draw open a moment later and he steps through them, pressing his fingers on the 'G' button as he passed. He turns his head around and watches Roderich; worried that the man might drop to the floor; asleep. Berwald lets out a sigh and fishes his car keys from his pocket.
