The world's just not as sparkly as you want it to be. [Arthur + Heracles]

Though he would never admit it, Arthur enjoyed the prospect of this photoshoot. After all, he had always enjoyed the thought of mythology and folklore, it being a guilty pleasure of his. However, Arthur had a reputation to keep up, so instead of an excited expression, Arthur wore an indifferent one that was only a step away from his usual scowl. Arthur never said he loved being a model, in fact, he was only in it for the money. To Arthur, the money and lifestyle was well worth the putting up with photoshoots, ridiculous outfits, and the paparazzi.

The staff had put extra care into Arthur's outfit that day. He arrived at the shoot looking as if he had been born of light itself. His makeup was thin and light, yet it made Arthur seem angelic, godlike, perhaps. He wore a loose fitting and almost skimpy white toga as well as sandals that seemed to have been stolen from ancient Greece. All this was fitting, since the idea of the photoshoot was based in Greek mythology. Arthur would play the part of Apollo, fickle and vengeful god of the sun, before becoming Hades, the reclusive ruler of the underworld.

His indifferent expression became a scowl. "Well, what is it that you want me to do?" Arthur growled. The one thing he didn't like about modeling was the fact that he was nothing more than a dress-up doll at times, and the powerlessness of that got to Arthur. Yet, for the money and fame, Arthur was more than willing to grin and bear it, just wanting to get this part over with. Perhaps he'd buy himself a drink or two after the photoshoot, that thought certainly made Arthur smile inwardly.

Heracles was actually excited for today's shoot, believe it or not. The focus was on the Greek gods - his gods, in a way - and he would be in charge of the project instead of, say, Antonio. Though he knew the only reason he was in charge was because of the fact it was the Greek gods; any other project and he would have been charged with dealing with the lighting and stage design and what now.

He looked over the set up, nodding approvingly at the choices made for this. He looked over at the model, smiling slightly. Apollo seemed like a good choice for him; Arthur looked like he was a god, and Heracles inwardly applauded the artists who got him dressed and ready to go. Though the look on his face definitely fit Hades - the next part of the shoot - more than it did Apollo.

"Well, first I need you to stop scowling like that." He said, before gesturing over towards on of the fake collumns. "Go lean against that and try to look like you just conquered over something." He instructed him, playing with his camera. He actually wanted to get a shot of the set before Arthur started, but he hadn't had time to before the model had arrived. Hopefully he would be able to get one before they took the set apart.

"Of course I know not to scowl," Arthur rolled his eyes. He sauntered his way over to the set up; it was well made, Arthur realized. Unlike some others he had participated in, the staff of this one actually seemed to care for this and do their job properly. Arthur decided that he'd hassle them less for their good work. Though that wouldn't stop Arthur from getting his way.

Arthur slid up to the columns, leaning on one. He recalled beating up his brothers when he was younger, and tried to put that feeling of conquest and power into his expression. After all, he was supposed to be Apollo, the god who aimed the arrow into Achilles' heel. He, like Arthur, held grudges and never failed to exact revenge for a slight. Arthur told himself that, and took on the role of the arrogant and youthful god, who was not unlike himself.

Arthur impatiently waited for the next set of instructions.

Arthur was definitely a model who got huffy and angry. After all, Arthur was prideful and willful, a very bad combination. He had a nasty temper to go with it, so he wasn't a very pleasant person to work with or be around. Yet, Arthur was a model first and an asshole second, so he did his job and he did it well. Even if he was a jerk about it.

Arthur was then handed a healer's staff by Heracles. Arthur stared at it for a moment, trying to figure out what the other wanted him to do with it. Obviously he didn't want an angry or cruel god, so Arthur guessed that Heracles wanted Arthur to play the role of a kind and benevolent healer. Gods sure were fickle beings, Arthur mused. Arthur held the staff, and imagined himself healing a sick child. An affectionate and fatherly smile appeared on his face, trying his best to play the part Heracles wanted him to be. After all, that was Arthur's duty, to always pretend to be someone or something else.

Arthur did have a kind and caring side to him. However, Arthur liked to keep that side of him locked up tight, since he considered it his weak side that might shatter if it was handled roughly. However, even with his kind expression, that side of Arthur was not leaking through. It was merely a facade, something that Arthur had perfected and now was paid to use facades to look like someone else. When Heracles told Arthur to sit on one of the fallen columns, Arthur obeyed, keeping his benevolent persona.

Arthur did not respond, since he didn't want to mess up any photos. The sooner the photoshoot was over, the sooner Arthur could get out of there and maybe get a nice drink.

Arthur wondered what the next part of the photoshoot would be about. He remembered hearing something about another god, but hadn't bothered to actually listen. Unbeknownst to Arthur, it would be Hades, lord of the Underworld.

Heracles pulled his camera away from his face after a few more photos, glancing at the clock. "We'll take a break here and you can get changed for the next half, okay?" He told Arthur, walking over and offering him a hand to help him stand up. It wasn't that he thought Arthur couldn't do it himself, it was that he was being polite and curteous. He wasn't sure how Arthur was going to take it though...

The moment this part of the shoot was over, the frown was back. Arthur did not take Heracles' hand, choosing to stand up instead. "I shall be back, then," he replied coldly before stalking off towards the stylists. There, they fussed over his outfit and began to get him ready. Getting Arthur ready for the next part took quite a while, after all he had to go from the god of the sun, to the god of the underworld. When he finally returned, he had the dark appearance of one who resided with Death. He wore a simple black toga with dark sandals. All this seemed to make his green eyes stand out.

"Let's get this over with."

Heracles frowned, shaking his head as Arthur completely ignored his offer. He hadn't expected it to actually be taken, but at least some acknowledgement would have been nice...Rolling his eyes, he went over to the prop box and began looking through it, trying to find things that would fit with Hades. He ended up with a torch, a box of matches, lighter fluid...what were those even doing in there?...and a pomegranate. He stared at the props, wondering just who was in charge of getting them together. They had odd choices...

He looked up as Arthur came back, raising an eyebrow. The stylists knew what they were doing...Arthur looked very much like a lord of the underworld, even with those eyebrows of his. "Here." He handed him the pomegranate, nodding over to the section of the shoot where the lights had been dimmed and a throne had been set up. "Go sit over there and just hold this out, like you're offering it to someone." Hopefully Arthur knew about the myth of Hades and Persephone.

Arthur was a jerk, plain and simple. It was possible to go through the reasons why, yet, Arthur would still be a jerk. However, he had mellowed out a bit compared to what he was like when he first moved to America. It was obvious that being away from his family was doing him some good, though clearly not enough good since Arthur was still mean spirited and drank a lot...

Arthur was momentarily baffled by the pomegranate he was handed, before he recalled the legend. "Persephone, correct? Poor child," Arthur mumbled. Remembering himself, Arthur quickly stood in front of the camera. The pomegranate looked like quite the tantalizing offer, even if it was in the hands of the lord of the underworld with a faint smirk on his face. After all, dark figures often win people over with simple trifles in order to betray people in the end. The pomegranate seemed fair, but it's true nature was quite foul.
