Having A Drink [Open]

Lars entered the local bar. He hadn’t been here before, but on his search for a nice bar, this one had seemed the most appealing. The place certainly looked like it was a welcome distraction after a long day of work. It had a nice atmosphere, and Lars had already seen that the barmaid wasn’t bad looking either (though maybe not quite as pretty as some of the models he would see at work).

It was Friday night, and he wouldn’t have to work tomorrow, so he didn’t have to hold back tonight. Which was good, since he hadn’t really had the chance to go out lately. Lars took his time in getting to the bar, taking in the sight of the bar. It wasn’t very busy yet, but maybe he had just come a little early. He pulled back one of the stools at the bar and sat down, draping his long coat over the back of it.

He reached into his pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes and a lightener. Once a cigarette was lit he took a long drag, watching the smoke leave his mouth and float off to elsewhere in the room. “A beer.” Lars said to the barmaid with a small smile in her direction.

A completely exhausted Roderich stepped into the bar, slightly relaxing in the familiar surroundings. His expression was that of a man who had worked hard for far too long, jaded, exhausted. While enjoyable most of the time, work did take its toll on the Austrian man. On this particular day he found himself uninspired when it came to his creative pursuits. In the end he gave up. Now he was at the bar, planning on getting drunk and hopefully using horrible judgment to create.

What the Austrian had not expected was to find two of his fellow workers sitting at the bar. A frown graced his face, but he stepped toward them anyways. In the presence of people he worked with, Roderick could not get as drunk as he had planned. There was no way he could allow colleagues to see him act undignified due to drunkenness. The aristocrat's image was far to important to ruin. However, perhaps not being able to get drunk that would be for the best—being drunk could end badly.

After a moment's contemplation, Roderich settled next to the dark-haired photographer. He smiled politely, greeting both the photographer and the other vaguely familiar man, before requesting a nice beer.

Lars quietly drank his beer, staring out in front of him. Or rather, at the barmaid. He was having nice eye contact with her in between the customers she served. His head was leaning on his hand, his elbow resting on the bar. His cigarette was hanging from his fingers. A playful smile lingered on his lips.

Some people entered the bar and sat down next to him, but he didn’t pay much attention to them. Only when his eyes followed the barmaid, who was going to take their orders, he saw who they were. Lars recognized both of them from his work. The one sitting right next to him was a photographer, and he was pretty sure the other one was a designer or something. Lars wasn’t noticed that much as a security guard, except by the people that would be causing trouble of course. But having to look over the place caused him to know nearly everyone, either by name or face, pretty soon.

He gave the men a nod as a greeting, taking another drag of his cigarette. He twisted the bud around in his fingers for a moment before pushing it out in the ash tray in front of him, blowing out the last of the smoke.

Roderich spent a few moments observing the two men beside him. While he was sure that he had seen them both plenty of times, he could not place exactly where. He felt rather dense, but no so much so that he was to ashamed to query. The Austrian decided to settle his attention on the dark-haired man, for he was closer and not intimidating.

“I apologize, but are you a model or a staff member? I see so many faces it is hard to remember,” asked the designer in the politest tone he could muster, hoping not to offend. However, Roderich was quickly distracted from the man when the barmaid returned with his beer. He could not resist flashing her a flirtatious smile as he thanked her, merely hoping to annoy the intimidating blond. Feigning innocence as she walked away, he finally turned his attention back to his coworker.

Said intimidating blond was not amused as the Austrian gave the barmaid that flirtatious look. He didn’t comment on it though. He merely listened to the conversation the other two were having. It wasn’t strange that the designer had chosen to talk to Heracles instead of him. If he didn’t even know what job the Greek had, he surely wouldn’t remember a simple security guard.

Heracles’ answer made him smirk slightly though. “You say that like it’s a strange thing to ask. You do look like you could be a model, ya know.” Lars stated dryly, not really facing the other guy as he said this. He took a sip of his beer and glanced at the photographer out of the corner of his eye.
