Of course Arthur just had to find the damned adorable unicorn plushie. They must have known his weakness for unicorn related things. After all, they must have noticed that someone was buying up all those unicorn things.

The idiotic plush just had to be unbearably cute, didn't it? It was white and sparkly and oh so fluffy! It made Arthur want to pick it up and squeeze the stuffing out of it, then cry like a three year old when it broke. He gave the plushie an intense stare, as if lecturing it for being so maddeningly adorable! Arthur wanted it so badly. After all, it would look cute with his unicorn pillow, and it would feel so good just to hug. Arthur reached out towards the stuffed animal, wanting to know how it felt. But he quickly pulled his hand back before touching it.

However, it was girly, and Arthur would rather be dead than caught seen buying that thing. However, Arthur swore that thing was giving it the saddest and yet cutest look it could muster! Damn the unicorn and it's manipulative cuteness! Arthur gave it another sharp glare, still debating the purchase in his mind.

The unicorn looked like it was imagining a rainbow, but Arthur knew, he knew it was manipulating him to buy it! He sent it another angry glare, but the inanimate object seemed unaffected by it.

Arthur was much too engrossed by the toy unicorn he so desperately wanted to notice Alfred sneaking by him. After glaring at the unicorn for who knows how long, Arthur had finally decided. Glancing around a bit to make sure nobody was watching him, Arthur went inside the toyshop. Pretending to look around at other things, as if deciding for a birthday gift for a child, Arthur wandered around the store.

Soon enough, perhaps too soon, Arthur had arrived back at the unicorn plushie he had been staring at earlier. A huge blush wormed its way across Arthur's face when he touched the plushie. He quickly picked it up and put it in a handbasket he had grabbed on the way in. Arthur would have preferred holding the plushie himself, but it would look like he had gotten it for himself.

This whole ordeal was so embarrassing for Arthur that he almost wished he had a kid so it didn't seem so silly and suspicious. Then again, Arthur did like kids, they were cute and so much nicer than the adults. Plus kids actually believed him when he spoke of faeries and magic, they were real, damn it!

Arthur slowly made his way up to the cashier, still blushing as he got ready to purchase the adorable unicorn plushie. Arthur had already named it. It was to be named after the dashing Arthurian knight Sir Galahad. After all, both unicorns and Galahad were symbols of purity. Not to mention, both unicorns and Arthurian legend had captured Arthur's imagination ever since he was a small child listening to his mother's stories.

Arthur finally bought the toy, and left the store. He wanted to grin ecstatically and hug the bag close to his chest, but he was a proper gentleman and a famous model, so he couldn't. He'd just have to wait until he got back to his flat, where he could hug Galahad and be as silly as he wanted. After all, he just had to keep up a strong face in public, but alone at home, he could be Arthur.

Arthur reminded himself that he hadn't come to the mall just to buy a silly but very cute unicorn plushie. In fact, he had come to buy some new clothes. The unicorn was just an added bonus. Arthur went into a nearby shop and began to browse through the shirts they had. Arthur paused when he saw a shirt with a unicorn on it. Blushing, he quickly went to look at the jackets. One unicorn thing was enough for the day. Plus, Arthur would never have the chance to wear such a tacky and ostentatious shirt. It was horrible, and Arthur thought that the shirt would be ill suited to his looks. Yet, it had a unicorn on it.

Instead Arthur found a purposefully tattered black jacket with the union jack on it in a few places. Arthur liked it, and tried it on, and it suited him quite well. So he held onto it and continued to look through the store, obviously avoiding the part with the unicorn shirt.

Arthur located some nice looking pants that might look excellent on him, so he grabbed them and headed for the dressing room. Not paying much attention, Arthur randomly opened an unlocked one, which just so happened to contain a snickering Alfred F. Jones. Arthur stared blankly at the other, wondering why the heck the other had been hiding in a dressing room and laughing. Could the other have seen the incident with the unicorn?! Not to worry though, Arthur had thought of an alibi long before this incident.

Arthur quickly muttered an apology before trying to close the door as he backed out. After all, it could just be a coincidence that the other man was standing around in a dressing room laughing like an idiot. Arthur tried to find an empty dressing room but couldn't. He decided that perhaps he should just abandon the pants and the jacket and leave the store, after all, they might not be worth running into Alfred again. Arthur tried to check for a dressing room again, not exactly wanting to get rid of the jacket.

Oh god, Alfred knew. Arthur felt sick to his stomach and wanted to take the unicorn back to the toy store. There was obviously something wrong with him. Only young girls liked unicorns, an Arthur certainly was neither a child nor a girl. He was a freak, and a mean one at that. Alfred would tell everyone and Arthur's career would be ruined and he'd be forever remembered as the unicorn guy. He could just see the press going crazy about it, and photoshopping his head onto all sorts of unicorn related photos. Arthur would be utterly destroyed and humiliated just for a stupid toy plushie that he couldn't restrain himself from getting. It made Arthur sick.

"Oh this? N-no... A friend of mine invited me to their child's birthday party. I'm attending just to be nice, and so I figured I'd get the child a lovely birthday present. Honestly, what kind of freak would buy such a silly thing for themselves," Arthur stammered out, acting insulted that Alfred would even think that he liked unicorns.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to try on the things I actually got for myself," Arthur motioned towards the pants and he was holding. He quickly went inside the dressing room, shutting and locking the door and placing the bag holding the unicorn down on the chair. Arthur quickly began to change into the pants, wanting to be able to escape from Alfred and his embarrassment as soon as he possibly could. Arthur struggled not to cry or blush or freak out from his embarrassment. Arthur wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Or murder Alfred, whichever one would be most effective.

The bastard was snickering and making fun of him. Arthur was humiliated and vulnerable, and Alfred held the key to Arthur's undoing. He remembered what it was like to be beat up and made fun of his brothers, and that only made Arthur furious. With the last comment, Arthur's self control sort of snapped or imploded, he wasn't really sure which, and honestly, he didn't really care at the moment. What mattered was that Alfred was posing a danger to Arthur's pride and money, and quite frankly that was not going to fly.

Arthur slammed the door to the dressing room open, not bothering to change out of the jacket and pants he was trying on. With the furious expression and the outfit, Arthur looked like the terrifying delinquent he used to be, and quite honestly, he felt like he was too.

"You should shut the fuck up right now. If you tell a soul about the damn unicorn, I will personally make you regret hearing the name Arthur Kirkland. I will give you a hint, those scars I have on my torso, they're from being a delinquent, so you'd best learn to hold your tongue," Arthur growled irritably, his right hand balled up into a fist to make his point.

“Oh shit,” was all Alfred managed to get out as the door slammed open and Arthur looked like he was about to murder him. Well, this was NOT what he had expected! He’d just wanted to tease Arthur, not be threatened by… an ex-delinquent, crap he was so screwed. What was he supposed to do now? If he ran, he’d look like a pansy and he was no pansy but running would be safe. But if he stayed, Arthur would kill him.

“Uhh…”

Yes, that was the only intelligent thing he could come up with at the moment and for the first time in years, he desperately wished he could teleport himself back to Canada and away from this crazy British model who wanted to murder him.

Arthur sighed in annoyance when Alfred failed to give an adequate response of either 'Yes I understand. I'll shut my mouth' or a 'No, I'd rather get beaten to a pulp.' He gave the other another glare before speaking again, "Well? Do we have an agreement or not? I'd much prefer it if we forgot this whole thing and moved on with our lives. Unless you want to be beaten and then have us forget this and move on with our lives. Take your pick. It's not that difficult of a decision, really."

Arthur hadn't been this angry since the last time he had seen his brothers. Quite honestly, Alfred was beginning to remind Arthur of his brothers, which wasn't a good thing in the least. Arthur hated his brothers who bullied him as a child. Arthur just wanted to go home and hug Galahad, not get into fights with American models who had no manners or tact.

With the exclamation and flinching, Arthur smirked, finally getting the reaction he wanted. "Good. You keep my secret, and you keep your face. Honestly, I'm not so mean as to honestly want to destroy your career, but if anything gets out about the unicorn, I'm as good as dead. So if that ever happens because of you, I'll just let you know that you're going down with me. Now, learn a bit more respect and we'll get along, lad," Arthur declared.

He then went back inside the dressing room and got back into his normal clothes, looking more like a model than a delinquent now. He grabbed the clothes and the unicorn bag before exiting the dressing room area. Then, he went to the cashier to purchase the jeans and the jacket, since Arthur thought they suited him quite nicely.

Gulping, Alfred nodded quickly, his eyes still wide as he stared at Arthur. “O-Okay! I won’t t-tell anyone! No one! N-not even my brother o-or someone at the a-agency or even a random squirrel or something! No one, I swear!” He just wanted to keep his face! He didn’t need Arthur to destroy him just because he let something about the unicorn slip.

He was still in shock as Arthur changed and then went to pay, deciding to wait here until Arthur had left the store and all was safe once again.

Arthur noted with a smirk that he had succeeded in scaring Alfred into shutting up. Truly it was better to be feared than loved, Arthur thought. After all, without fear, Arthur would have had to live in fear of Alfred revealing his secret. What did Arthur need love for anyways? It was merely a setup to betrayal, Arthur was certain of that.

He finally paid for his clothes, getting a large bag where he could hide the bag containing the unicorn in. Arthur stopped to think for a moment, if Alfred had known about the plushie and the shirt, didn't that mean the other had been stalking him? Arthur felt a little creeped out by that fact. He glanced quickly at the dressing room area with an odd expression before turning and leaving the store.

By this time, Arthur was hungry, so he went to the food court and got himself a small, but rather low quality salad. After all, he'd rather not get caught eating something fatty, even if it meant eating something that wasn't very delicious. Not to mention, Arthur had to keep a close watch on his weight, since he was being paid to look his best. He didn't want to be surpassed by another model, especially one such as Alfred.

"Stalking me again Jones? If I didn't know better, I'd say you actually liked me," Arthur commented as the other model tried to sneak past him. Arthur had been feeling a bit paranoid ever since he realized that the other had been following him around. He had thought that Alfred would have stopped when Arthur threatened him, but apparently that wasn't the case.

Arthur took another bite of salad. Why did he keep on running into the other person anyways? It wasn't as if Hollywood was a small town. It felt odd to be running into the same person over and over again. It couldn't be coincidence.

“I’m not following you! Ew!” Alfred pouted and tried to storm off, only to bump into some random guy. Great. His day was just getting better and better! Ugh! After apologizing repeatedly to the man, he sighed, suddenly feeling exhausted. He just wanted his new videogame and then go home and forget all about Arthur and his meanness and unicorn obsession.

“I want a game…” With that, he walked off. He was not a stalker! And why would he follow Arthur?!

Arthur wasn't surprised in the least by Alfred's reaction. He was used to being disliked, if not hated. He chuckled a bit when he watched the other bump into a person and freak out. After that, Arthur finished his salad. He figured he would shop a bit more before going home himself. He really did want to hug his new plushie, even if it was extremely embarrassing.

Recalling Alfred's reaction to finding out about his like for unicorns, Arthur wondered if there was something seriously wrong with him. After all, Arthur had no friends and his family all but despised Arthur's mere existence. Arthur willed away the thoughts, feeling sick with himself. He wouldn't ever mention such things to anyone else.

Arthur quickly stood up and threw away his salad before looking around the mall for things he could buy to take his mind off of more unpleasant things.

Arthur saw the bookstore as the perfect haven to distract himself. He did enjoy books, and what better way to distract oneself than to lose yourself in a completely different world? Arthur quickly went inside. He decided to avoid the Fantasy section for today and spend his time looking at the History section. After all, with Arthur's luck, the American would just catch him with a unicorn book if Arthur even set foot in the Fantasy section.

Arthur glanced around the selection they had before noticing an interesting book on pirates. He picked it up and began to glance through it, still trying to distract himself from his unpleasant thoughts. Arthur wasn't lonely! He was perfectly fine, even if he was alone.

Arthur noticed Alfred glancing at a book nearby. He really did keep on running into the other person! It was strange, and quite embarrassing. Arthur quickly ducked behind a nearby bookshelf and looked at more history books. He wondered why Alfred had been looking at the book with such an odd expression. Was the boy homesick? Why did Arthur care?

Arthur put the pirate book down and picked up another book. He buried his nose in the new book, this one being a rather interesting one about the creation of the Special Relationship between England and America. Arthur found it quite interesting, plus he was trying to avoid Alfred, or at least pretend he didn't know the other was in the bookstore too.
